Joseph “Tocky” Lawrence, formerly senior director of fulfillment with the National Wildlife Federation in Winchester, VA, has over 25 years experience in managing IT, call center and fulfillment center operations for catalog and Internet businesses.
As clients and potential clients, you’ll stand to benefit from Mr. Lawrence’s substantial and varied operations background. From an IT perspective, his experience includes designing, developing and implementing systems for mainframes and client server platforms, as well as selecting and implementing commercial systems. Mr. Lawrence came up through the programming ranks, from acting project manager to eventually head of IT.
On the Call Center side of operations, Mr. Lawrence oversaw the installations of several new systems as Director of Information Systems, including the Executone Phone system, as well as the cabling of entire facilities to support a new Call Center. Mr. Lawrence has also been responsible for the installation of a Siemens Hicom 300 phone system for the Call Center, as well as redesigning catalog Web sites and automating orders into commercially available order management systems. Mr. Lawrence was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the 125 seat National Wildlife Federation call center. This responsibility included scheduling, training, cost reduction exercises, and call monitoring to name a few.
Finally, Mr. Lawrence has project managed the design and installation of an additional 1,100 SKU flow rack pick line and conveyor system. This project was done for one of the largest gift and home businesses in America. The gift catalog includes tens of thousands of consumer products, including Christmas cards, linens and domestics, and hard goods.
